The Importance of Using Testimonials

Using testimonials creates credibility that is important to have when dealing with unknown prospects on the Internet. With so many people claiming that they have the best product, that they can work miracles for you, that they will make you rich, why should you believe them?

Testimonials from your customers, or others who have used your product or service, will create credibility. Testimonials are essentially just stories explaining a persons experiences.

People can relate to stories which are in line with their own experiences or desires. These stories play on the emotions of the readers by painting a vivid picture in their minds that shows them what they could achieve with the product or service that you are promoting.

The best way to obtain these testimonials (stories) is to simply ask for them from your own customers. Ask them to tell you verbally or in writing a short story about how you, your product, or service has helped them to achieve some level of success, or accomplish what they desired.

If you are just starting out and don’t have any customers of your own, you can use testimonials of people from the site of the product you’re promoting to highlight how this has helped people in similar situations to your readers.

But above all remember that being an online marketer is all about credibility, so the key is to ensure the stories you are using are true, realistic and you can back them up.
