Marketing Expense In A Recession

Well, the elections are finally over and whether you are happy or sad about the outcome it’s time to move on and concentrate on what you have control over and not on what you don’t, such as your marketing expense.

Most of the news will now probably get back to the doom and gloom that has been so prevalent for the past month in the news. With people struggling financially and expenses increasing, it’s easy to see why many business people start looking for ways to cut their expenses. However, it could be a big mistake to cut back on marketing expenses.

Independent research in years past has proven that those businesses that don’t cut back on their marketing during times of recession, but actually expand their marketing, have an advantage over their competition. They will often gain market share at the expense of their more timid competitors that start cutting back on their marketing budget.

I understand that for many expenses must be cut. But, I would encourage you to be aggressive in your marketing during these difficult times and look for other areas to start cutting. Read the strategies suggested by people like Dan Kennedy who has successfully navigated troubled waters in years past no matter what the economic conditions.

It’s a comfort to me to know that no matter what the future holds, I know who holds the future.

To your success,

Yaa, the market will grow again and come back in it’s previous state very soon. Even if some ups and downs will be seen in the near future, we should continue to be aggressive in our marketing skills.
