Social Networking

If you are not taking advantage of the most popular social networking sites then you are missing out on a tremendous opportunity. I said the most popular sites because there are numerous social networking sites and more are popping up all the time. If you try to participate in all of them you will end up wasting time and not being as effective as you could be.

So which sites are the most popular? Twitter, Facebook and Youtube are currently the most popular and the most helpful from a marketing standpoint. As a matter of fact, there are very few businesses right now that couldn’t get all the customers they need through a great campaign on each of these sites, if you know how to utilize them. If you need help, one of the best resources is Stompernet (access is expensive). A less well known, but good training source, is through the Lighthouse Marketing System. Their social networking guru, Dave Sherwin, provides excellent training at a reasonable cost.

How much traffic, exposure, and sales are you getting from these sites. If the answer is none, or not much, it’s time to get to work, because your competitors are already there! The opportunity is still huge, your audience is waiting, so if you jump in quick and take these sites seriously, you may get all the customers you can handle.

For additional training on social networking check out the 4th Pillar training program sponsored by the Lighthouse Marketing System. They provide a complete “business in a box” training, database, and marketing solutions. The cost of this program is $997, but for a short time it’s available for a substantial discount. I’ve personally been through the training and found it to be very helpful.

Hi, good post. I have been thinking about this topic,so thanks for sharing. I’ll certainly be coming back to your posts.

Social Networking has come a long ways and is a likely place to tempt prospects into your field, like you said. Getting training from a reliable source will only benefit your success. If you can afford it, if not, do some research on your own by studying others’ styles across the Internet you can hit on a mix that you enjoy for your marketing success.

When I first joined my first social site, I had no idea what it involved; I just got an invite form a friend and gave it a go. This site was MySpace. After a while I learnt to work the site and boy was it something. Artists really market their music there; advertise their gigs, album releases. Then I joined face book and hi5 among others. You are right, social networking is the easiest and cheapest way to put your goods out there. I use it to advertise events that I have organized and with more people becoming my friends, I get more exposure. Good stuff!
