Twitter Followers
One of the big questions people have is “how many Twitter followers should I have.” It can be a little intimidating to see all of the people with multiple thousands of followers when you only have hundreds of followers. But the question is, are the thousands of followers serving a valid purpose for the individual that has them?
There are many programs available that will help you obtain large numbers of Twitter followers. However, it is my belief that unless the followers have a common interest with you the large numbers are meaningless. It’s similar to buying a large list of email addresses. You can have many thousands of them, but if none of the people you email have an interest in what you offer, it’s meaningless. Not to mention the SPAM problems.
One of the tools I really like that helps me find followers with similar interests is Twellow. It’s not automated, and so you can’t set it and walk away and expect thousands of people to follow you, but I’ve found it beneficial to locating people in my community with interest similar to mine. I would much rather have one of these individuals following my Tweets than 1,000 that could care less about me, or my tweets.
